Well it's official, I have a baby 1/3 of a year old...4 Months...16 weeks (that makes him sound not so old). Time has completely flown and I just can't believe it!!
Baby H is weighing in at 15 pounds 11 ounces (55%), and 25 inches long (41%), and his head size is in the 94%. No wonder he does not like doing tummy time.
That has been our most recent adventure with this little boy. He will do tummy time using the boppy, sitting in his bumbo, or just sitting up. However, he hates...HATES laying flat on the floor. I guess as long as the other tasks are making him engage his back and neck muscles life could be all well.
We recently have started to use toys to try to peek his interest. He could pretty much care less about any toy. What he really wants is his blanket/burp rag to chew on. He loves just chewing on anything and everything cloth. Teething rings, not so much. We'll get there though.
Speaking of teeth. The doctor said that one of his canine teeth appears to be coming in. If this is the case, it'll be the first for our pediatrician. In addition to this tooth possibly coming in, he also is having mucus sacks hardening on his gums. I've learned that this is not uncommon. Most mom's think that this is where the tooth is appearing, and then disappearing after a week or so. That is not the case, instead the baby mimics teething to then burst these sacks.
I love this little boy to death. I can't believe how much he's changed our lives. I'm looking forward to the next month with him and what it has to bring, including family visits to Indiana and Thanksgiving.

My New Plexus Journey
After what I will call an amazing, birth and
now 4 months with Baby H, life has started to settle down for us. Derek is back
at work, in a new role in fact, and I have elected to stay at home. I love my
new career as mom. I feel amazing with all aspects of it. I am, however,
struggling with energy levels. Every day I feel like I need to have a pop or a
tea. Recently it's increased to needing 2 pops or 2 sweet teas per day to make
it through. I know it shouldn't be this way. Caffeine, I know, isn't good
for me while nursing. In addition, being new parents and trying to figure out
life, our eating habits have become horrible ones. While I am losing weight
from not having a child in me and nursing, my energy and overall wellbeing is
my concern.
At just the right time, 2 months ago, my
cousin Riley started to post on Facebook about these plant based products from
a company called Plexus. I hadn't heard of them before and it really peeked my
interest when I saw a blog, video and first had account about Plexus products
helping nursing mothers increase their milk supply. I've always feared that I
am not making enough milk for Baby H. While I know I'm making enough to feed
him, he’s transferring and gain weight, I haven't been making enough for
storage. So, like most things I am curious on, I did research. By research I
mean obsessively, 2 am feedings, 5 am feedings, etc. Everything I was reading only had good things to
say. I finally got the courage to talk to Riley about the company itself.
She explained so many things to me, I was on board, finally she mentioned
though it could assist with weight loss. Hmm added bonus, but I still said not
yet. I wanted to do this on my own. I'm fine, I'm "super mom" as
Derek kindly calls me.
Riley sent me a 5 day pack of their main
product known as the “pink drink”, Plexus Slim. Every morning I woke up, drank
the drink, which honestly took some getting used to the taste, changed Baby H
and then ate breakfast. On day 3 she asked me how I was feeling. At first I
hadn't noticed a difference so I asked what should I be noticing. Increased Energy,
reduced cravings in sugary drinks/foods, suppressed appetite or better sleep.
Day 4 came along and I realized during my normal day of eating out after breastfeeding
support group, I couldn’t eat as much and I honestly hadn't had a pop in 3
days. Interesting. Another 2 days went by, energy was up and I still hadn't had
or NEEDED a pop, but my sample was done. I'll be fine...not. Fast forward to
now,2 months later, still one the fence, but always in the back of my mind
Riley, contacted me again. I told her I am getting closer and closer to buying
the product. If I took the money I was spending each day on pop and candy, I
could easily afford to try the products.
Finally this past week I started to
think more and more about Plexus and trying the Triplex combination. In
September I spoke with my doctor about the products, showed the ingredients to
her and made sure that she was comfortable with me taking these supplements
while nursing and if they were okay for Baby H. To my surprise, I was given the
okay. In fact she said with the ProBio 5, it could actually help his tummy as
well!
I pulled the trigger after Riley made me an
offer and now I'm waiting on my first batch of products. The offer you may
ask...well I am able to get my products at wholesale (the cheapest) price by
joining her team. Lord help me...I now have a website (My Plexus Website) I have
told her that I am not going to push products but I am willing to try the
products for at least the 60 day money back guarantee and see if they continue
to work on me like before. If they do great AND I still will get the cheap rate even
if no one buys from me. WIN!!
So that's where I am. November 2nd I signed
up, ordered my first combo pack and getting excited to start feeling better. I
am going to be monitoring my energy, cravings, moods, body measurements,
weight, the effects on Baby H and my milk supply. I figure I can continue
to post on here about the adventures of the products and how they work or don’t
for me.
While I may have just ordered my first pack, I
have done extensive research on others' testimonies for various reasons of use.
I have spoken to my doctors and they have approved me using them (that helped
get Derek on board), but please check with your own doctor if you do decide to
use these products. If anyone does have
any questions I'd be happy to answer them to the best of my knowledge and dig
into any questions that I don't know the answer to. Or if you’re like me,
you can start your own research on the product, Pinterest, Facebook, Google, etc.
So here goes nothing…

Brief Introdcution
July 4, 2015 my world changed forever, Baby H was born. We found out on November 3, 2014 that we were
expecting and decided then that we weren’t going to find out what we were
having. That being said, we were due
July 11, but Baby H decided to make HIS appearance exactly one week early.
I knew my life would be different with having a baby, but I
never knew what my new journey would be. Every day there is something new and
exciting happening. Some days are better
than others for me, but I think that is to be expected being a new mom.
Now, four months later, I have official resigned from my
engineering position to stay at home full time with my handsome prince. This blog will be to document my journey, our
family journey and Life with Baby H.
